Setting up GPS Forwarding

GPS forwarding is the ability of the Pepwave router to automatically send GPS reports to a specified server. To set up GPS forwarding, navigate to Advanced-->GPS Forwarding. You will be presented with a screen that looks similar to the figure below:

Check the check box next to Enable. This will turn on the GPS forwarding feature of the router.

In the Server IP Address / Host Name text box enter with the host name of or the IP address of In the Port number text box enter the UDP port number specified for your device. It will be a number between 2000 and 65534. Set the report interval. We recommend setting the report interval to the highest value (10 seconds in most cases) in order to cut down on the amount of traffic passing through your cellular connection. Our system only accepts position reports at a maximum rate of 1 every 30 seconds so sending additional reports just wastes your cellular data. Click the plus sign to save your settings.

Select NMEA for the GPS Report Format and finally select the check box next to GPRMC. Do not enter a vehicle ID. That's it, your device is ready to start reporting its position data to our servers. If you are connected to the Internet through your router within thirty seconds you should start seeing tracking data for this device.
